Porsche 911T Type 901/16 Engine (2.0L Flat-Six Rebuilt to 2.0L+)

This Porsche Type 901/16 flat-six engine was originally built for a 1969 Porsche 911T and was acquired by the seller in 2011. A full engine rebuild was completed in 2021 by the Klassik Automotive Training School in Flagstaff, Arizona, with the process documented across a 33-part YouTube series. The 2.0-liter magnesium-case flat-six was rebuilt and modified to 2,040cc displacement, incorporating upgraded internal components and precision machining for improved performance and reliability.

The engine case was line-bored and machined for standard main bearings by Ollie’s Engineering in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. During the rebuild, forged 81mm JE pistons and Biral cylinders were installed, increasing the compression ratio to 9.8:1. Engine stamping ☆6196078☆ confirms that it is a Type 901/16 unit originally produced for a 1969 Porsche 911T destined for the US or Canadian markets.
